Dental Technology STA wandAt Central Park Dentistry we strive to provide not only cutting-edge technology to our patients, but also methods of making your visits even more comfortable.

One of our latest additions here at Central Park Dentistry is the new Single Tooth Anesthesia System.  What is it?  Think of those painful shots prior to cavity repair or other work as a thing of the past.  This new system uses computer controlled delivery to precisely control how the anesthesia is delivered and under what pressure.  No more syringes needed... you will appreciate the difference!

Straight Teeth, No Braces!
Posted by: admin on Wednesday, August 15, 2007 - 07:03 PM
Dental Technology

InvisalignEver wanted to get your teeth straightened but were afraid it might hurt or cost too much?

Our office offers Invisalign(R) - the exciting new way to straighten your teeth without braces.

*  Invisalign is an exciting new tecnology the straightens your teeth with a series of clear, customized, removable aligners.  The aligner is a thin piece of medical grade plastic that fits over the teeth like a glove would fit on a hand.  Hardly anyone can tell you're going through treatment.  Since the aligners are removable, you can eat whatever you want during the treatment.

*  Please follow this link to the Invisalign web site, choose "I'm a patient" and learn what Invisalign can do for you and how it works.

We also want to make sure you know that our office can work with you to find financing options that work.  We have payment options, including CareCredit.(R)

To see if Invisalign is right for you (it can work for teens and adults), call us at 641-423-4225 to schedule a free consultation.

Thank you for your commitment to our practice.  We hope you, a family member, or a friend can benefit from this exciting option.

Biographies: Meet Dr. Jay Lala D.D.S.
Posted by: admin on Wednesday, August 15, 2007 - 06:46 PM
Our History Jay Lala (right)Jay Lala is an Iowa native originally from Cedar Rapids.  Jay attended Mount Mercy College and the University of Iowa Dental school where he graduated in 1988.  Jay completed his residency in Advanced Education in General Dentistry in 1989 in Iowa City.  In 1993 Jay opened Central Park Dentistry here in Mason City and quickly became recognized as one of the top dentists in Northern Iowa.

In 1991 Jay married Lorrie but there is more to the story than that. One little known fact is that Jay met Lorrie while in dental school... literally!  Lorrie was a patient with an intense fear of going to the dentist.  Luckily for Jay (and Lorrie) it turned out that Jay knew how to put apprehensive patients at ease.  In Lorrie's case Jay put her enough at ease to eventually say “I do” and the rest, as they say, is history! Today Jay and Lorrie reside in Mason City with their two sons Nick and Sam along with four dogs (2 Standard Poodles, 1 Golden Retriever, 1 miniature Dachshund.)

When Jay isn't seeing his dental patients he enjoys snow skiing, water skiing, sporting clays, golf, ATVs, and hunting with his Golden Retriever. If Tommy Bahama ever holds an amateur golf tournament we're pretty certain Jay will be there sporting his best Magnum P.I. inspired outfit by Tommy B.  Go Jay!  If you are a current patient or plan on becoming one you'll know (or quickly learn) what we mean by that comment!

Jay is not your typical strait laced dentist.  Be prepared to smile or even laugh during your dental visit.  Jay's carefully selected staff and partner (Dr. Matt Hansen) are all receptive to patient's fears and concerns.

Going to the dentist should be enjoyable and no more stressful than getting a hair cut.  Jay learned early on how to treat fearful patients and this is just one of many attributes that make Central Park Dentistry such a successful practice today.

Treating Tooth Decay In A Gentler Way
Posted by: admin on Monday, November 08, 2004 - 12:16 PM
Dental Technology Our office utilizes the KCP kinetic cavity preparation system, an exciting new advance in dentistry. We hope the following information will help you better understand this instrument and its use. The KCP sprays away decay so gently, there's often no need for numbing needles.

What is the KCP and how does it work?

It's a new instrument that can be used as an alternative to the drill in some procedures. Minute particles almost too small to be seen with the naked eye are carried to the tooth by a stream of air, gently and precisely spraying away decay.
